How to do this trend chic in 2017

Tonal, with a dash of denim or alone the colour block trend is making a strong comeback and modern too...

One great feature of the trend is the vibrant richness (from the colours)/happy yet shocking effect it has on people!

A few stylish ladies and men really pull the look off though but the trick is to know how to layer on the colours considering your skintone (hues that best suit your colour) of course.

The trend was seen a lot on the NYFW SS18 runways and it's again taking centrestage though this time moving away from the traditional form it usually comes in; the co-ord pieces featuring contrasting hues from opposite side of the colour wheel.

A popular study however suggests that wearing colour block trend boosts confidence and one couldn't agree more especially when done perfect!

Recently fashion consultant and vlogger Sharon Ojong had a colour block moment at a fashion shopping event bursting out in a colourful studded Gelatias Closet frock.

Her inspiration to try out the trend? An 'almost beauty faux pas', deciding last minute to cover her legs up under the mini dress and voila a pair of orange opaque tights and matching mini tote complete with green army green heels!

To try out colour blocking, you don't have to go all out opposite ends of the colour wheel, try tonal blocking with reds and soft pinks if you are adventurous like Victoria Beckham! Try muted tones or monochromes if you want a simple take on the trend. Colour blocking mustn't be all out bright, go neutral or metallics for a refreshing modern look.

If you'd rather layer adding a wardrobe staple, wear the trend as you would and throw on a good old denim!Maju has an array of pieces that would work perfect for colour block if you dare to go adventurous. What do think of the colour blocking trend?
