Avoid doing these things the next time you are inside an elevator

The elevator is supposed to make our lives easier, but it can also make it a bit more complicated.

Speak up or remain silent? Should you look at people or should you look elsewhere? These are not the biggest problems in life, but sometimes even minor issues can be bothersome and negatively affect the quality of life. An expert in savoir-vivre advises how to behave in an elevator.

"Behavior in the elevator often embarrasses us," says Irena Kamińska-Radomska. "In a small room, we are in the company of complete strangers who, willingly or unwillingly, enter our intimate zone and thus our adrenaline level increases," she explains.

Fortunately, you can get out of such situations with style, even if you don't feel completely confident and comfortable. It is enough to maintain the basic rules of culture.

"When getting into the elevator, let's smile brightly and say 'good morning,' and when getting off, of course, 'goodbye," suggests Kamińska-Radomska. But that's not all. There is one more important issue that many people may not realise. If we want to be polite, we will actually behave rudely. The expert warns that it is better not to do this.

"When someone joins you without saying hello, do not say "good morning,'" she appeals. "It would sound a bit like a warning, like "good morning,'" he explains. And as most people probably know, giving attention to adults is inelegant and should not be done.

Let's also remember that in the elevator the rule "first leave, then enter" applies. If you know you're going high, it's a good idea to take a seat at the back, which will make it easier for people getting off earlier to leave the room. It is also bad manners to push yourself into an almost full elevator. Better to wait for the next one.
