MTV renews show for 3rd season
The third season of "Scream" will be its shortest, running for just six episodes.

On October 14, 2016, MTV renewed the series for a third season to consist of 6 episodes, which will premiere in 2017.

MTV and Dimension TV’s second season of Scream picked up with Emma’s (Willa Fitzgerald) return to Lakewood after several months at a retreat, where she tried to recover from the horrors of the first season.

The second season of the horror series wrapped up with a jaw-dropping finale which revealed Emma's boyfriend Kieran as the latest slasher.
