E L James’ husband Niall Leonard to script sequel

Husband to EL James, the author of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' trilogy, will be writing the script for the screen adaptation sequel.

 

Following the exit of , book author, E.L James has enlisted her husband, Nail Leonard, to script sequel, 'Fifty Shades Darker' - Hollywood Reporter reports.

Leonard, who has two kids with the British author, has written for British TV shows like Air Force One Is Down and Wire in the Blood.

First published in 2011, 'Fifty Shades' trilogy follows the relationship of 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey (played by Jamie Dornan) and college student Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).

The first book was followed by the 'Fifty Shades Darker' (2011) and a third book, 'Fifty Shades Freed' (2012).

Translated in over 50 languages since its release, 'Fifty Shades' trilogy has sold over 70 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the fastest-selling book series ever.

The first film which was scripted by Kelly Marcel, was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, and undefined

Reports had it that James clashed with Marcel and Taylor-Johnson over their approach to Fifty Shades of Grey, thus their exit from franchise.
