Singer is not making a film about Saartjie Baartman

After the rumors and backlash, it has been confirmed that Beyonce isn't playing Sarah Baartman, a South African woman who became known for her large buttocks.

There were rumours  that undefined had plans of penning a script about South African slave,  Saartjie "Sarah" Baartman, and also plans to star in the biopic.

The reports were followed by backlash from South Africans. According to a , let alone playing the part.

A representative for the singer has come out to debunk the reports. "Beyoncé is not connected to this project, but this is a very important story to be told," the rep said to Billboard.

Saartjie "Sarah" Baartman (more commonly known as Sarah or Sara Baartman) was the most famous of two Khoikhoi women who, due to their large buttocks (steatopygia), were exhibited as freak show attractions in 19th-century Europe under the name Hottentot Venus.
