Actress accuses ex of trying to make daughter look white

What does she mean by that?

Halle Berry has accused her ex boyfriend Gabriel Aubry of trying to make their 6-year-old daughter, Nahla, look white.

The Oscar winner's attorney Steve Kolodny told the court on Monday that Aubry was 'highlighting and straightening' Nahla's naturally curly hair, hence making her less of an African-American.

TMZ reports that the judge urged both Berry and Aubry to discontinue transforming their child's natural look... in order to get her hair return to its curliness.

The hair argument is just the latest in a prolonged and incredibly nasty custody battle between Berry and Aubry over their daughter.

In 2011, Aubry allegedly called Berry the N-word during their heated custody fight. In an interview with Ebony Magazine that same year, she said she considered Nahla to be “black,” despite her biracial background. Berry explained,

“I feel like she’s black. I’m black and I’m her mother, and I believe in the one-drop theory… I’m not going to put a label on it. I had to decide for myself and that’s what she’s going to have to decide – how she identifies herself in the world.”

Then in 2012, Aubry fought with Berry’s new husband, Olivier Martinez, over Thanksgiving and ultimately got a restraining order against Martinez, claiming the actor had threatened to kill him.

Last June, a court ordered Berry to pay Aubry $16,000 in child support per month. He was also awarded $115,000 in back support payments.

A verdict, the actress filed a lawsuit to kick against early November. She claims the model was using the child support fee for himself and even quit his job, living off the cash.
