Singer not avoiding the police according to rep

Singer is busy preparing for some upcoming performances and will make himself available to the police, his rep revealed.

Burna Boy who has been linked in an investigation being conducted by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) concerning the robbery of Mr. 2kay is not on the run from law enforcement officers, his rep has revealed.

The latter spoke to Punch News stating that the dancehall sensation is currently focused on his music. The ember months are times when a demand for musicians go on an increase and that has been occupying him according to the source who disclosed this on a condition of anonymity.

His father had earlier represented him after he was summoned by the police but the force has insisted that he makes an appearance based on comments provided by his team member who maintained that the singer is not guilty of any wrongdoing.

"Burna Boy is neither on the run nor avoiding the police; he is not guilty. I cannot tell you his exact whereabouts but he is in the country recording.

"Also, you should know that as the festive season approaches, demand for his services would be on the increase, so he is preparing for appearances as well.

"Initially, when he was invited, he could not go to the station because of his engagements, so his father went to the police station in his stead. But now that the police have insisted that they want to see him personally, he would surely honour their invitation.

"He is not guilty of the charges leveled against him," the source told Punch.

Four suspects, Balogun Ademola, Obina Igwe, Tunmise Omotore and Joel Kantiok have been arrested in connection with the robbery of Mr. 2kay. They reportedly got the orders to carry out the act from Burna Boy according to a Punch News report.

The incident took place after the victim ended his performance at 2face Idibia’s "Buckwyld N Breathless" concert held on Saturday, October 22, 2017, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

2017 MTV Europe Music Award winner, Davido, also got into an intense controversy over the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike, but was later freed of the scandal.

The latter was reported to have died based on a high intake of Tequila.
