Soldiers combs Delta State for pipeline bombers

The military has begun the deployment of troops in Delta State to apprehend those who attacked oil facilities in the state recently.

The Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig-Gen. Rabe Abubakar, told one of our correspondents on the telephone in Abuja on Sunday that the military had deployed enough troops to dominate the areaa and commence the search for those behind the attacks on the strategic assets of the nation.

Budget: Senate may delay debate

The three-day debate on the 2016 Budget proposal, slated to begin (tomorrow) at the Senate may not start due to the inability of the executive to send the soft copy of the 2016 Appropriation Bill presented by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 22.

Tension as military invades five ijaw communities

FIVE communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Council, Delta State were invaded by the military yesterday morning. There was no direct explanation for their action. But The Guardian learnt that the soldiers invaded the communities in search of militants near the locations where pipelines were blown up .

N60b soft loans coming for one million traders

No fewer than one million traders and artisans are billed to get a soft loan of N60,000 each this year as part of the safety nets for the poor in Budget 2016, it was learnt at the weekend.
