An attack by gunmen on Monday that targeted a hotel in Mali's capital Bamako that had been converted into a base for a European Union military training operation has ended, the company that manages the hotel said.

Gunmen on killed 19 people at a beachside resort in Ivory Coast. The attack was claimed by al Qaeda's North African branch, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
