Nigerian, 6 others to be executed for drug trafficking

The condemned foreigners include two Australian leaders of the “Bali Nine” drug-smuggling gang and citizens of France, Brazil, Nigeria and Ghana.

Indonesia is set to go forward with plans to execute 7 foreign drug convicts after their appeals for presidential clemency were rejected.

The condemned foreigners include two Australian leaders of the “Bali Nine” drug-smuggling gang and citizens of France, Brazil, and Ghana, AFP reports.

Four Indonesians are also set to be executed, one on drug charges and the others for pre-meditated murder.

“The attorney general's office now has 11 convicts on death row ready to be executed,” spokesman Tony Spontana said late on Wednesday, January 28.

Indonesia had earlier attracted outrage when i on January 18 despite pleas from the international community to spare their lives.
