Court remands EastEnders murder suspect in custody

Simpson-Kent is wanted in connection with the murder of Sian Blake, a former actress in the popular soap opera EastEnders, and the two boys, Zachary and Amon. The family had been reported missing in mid-December.

A court in Ghana on Tuesday remanded in custody the partner of a British actress whose body was found in the garden of her London home last week along with those of their two young sons.

Police arrested suspect Arthur Simpson-Kent in western Ghana on Saturday after a manhunt. He is remanded until Jan. 26 ahead of an extradition hearing, magistrate Rosemund Dodua Agyira told a hearing at Kaneshie district court in Ghana's capital, Accra.

Simpson-Kent appeared at the hearing in handcuffs wearing a grey T-shirt and grey trousers. He did not speak during the hearing but nodded when asked by the magistrate whether he was being well treated in custody, a witness said.
