President John Mahama has held talks with a former President of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres, in Brazzaville, Congo.

The two leaders, who were panelists at the 2nd Forbes Afrique Forum, discussed issues related to agriculture and how Israel’s experiences and agricultural technology can help boost Ghana’s drive to improve and mechanise its agricultural sector.

Speaking earlier at the main forum, President Mahama said Ghana is working to make full use of the massive mobile phone penetration to reach out to farmers with new farming ideas.

He also noted that an effective digital component of the Ghana Commodity Exchange, which is being developed will benefit the country’s farmers.
