Asoko Insight, an Africa-focused market research platform has joined forces with financial services powerhouse, Ernst & Young and IC Publications of African Business Magazine to launch an initiative for ranking Africa’s best performing companies.
Called the Africa Ranking, the platform will provide a vastly detailed ranking of the fastest growing, privately-held companies in Africa, using audited and verifiable company data.
Only companies with a minimum annual turnover of 500,000 dollars will be eligible for the ranking; they must also be profit-oriented with their headquarters situated in Africa. Applications will be judged based on year-on-year growth, financial performance and governance within the companies.
In explaining the motivation for the initiative, Michael Lalor, Ernst & Young’s Africa Business Centre Lead Partner said “.... we believe this collaboration will go one step further in supporting our view on the Africa growth narrative. There are many companies across the continent who have contributed significantly to the respective economies, and we need to continue to highlight and share these success stories locally and globally”
The premier edition of the ranking will be published in February 2017. In addition to giving the ranked companies much-needed exposure, it will also provide a standard with which they can compare future performances.
If your company satisfies all criteria, you can apply here. Applicants who are not ranked among the top companies will be given clear reasons why they did not make the cut.
