Platform celebrates 5-year anniversary, announces new 4-point masterplan

SMW Lagos is looking to top all of its previous performance over the next five years.

Social Media Week Lagos (#SMWLagos) will be five years old next year and the platform has announced its roadmap for the next five years.

With attendance figures of over 12,000 people and an online reach that is fast approaching one billion (according to a statement from the platform), SMW Lagos is looking to top that over the next five years.

To accomplish that, the platform has outlined a four-point five-year plan:

Create jobs: SMW Lagos hopes to offer skill-based training and career preparedness opportunities as well as programming geared toward entrepreneurs and SMEs through its programming.

Facilitate investments: The platform hope to draw attention to local investors and opportunities in the local tech market. It also wants to serve as a confluence to facilitate collaboration and partnerships.

Offer quality education: SMW Lagos will work on strategic partnerships to provide it with a track of programming that focuses on digital solutions to bridge the educational divide.

Gender balance: The platform also hopes to ensure that women are an integral part of its prgramming and initiatrives.

Event submissions for SMW Lagos's next edition will open from Noveember 2, 2016, and registration for the conference will be open from November 9, 2016.
