Still no cash payment option on your Uber app? Here's how to force-activate it

Well, the feature is rolling out gradually so it won’t be available to everyone at the same time.

Uber users can now pay in cash

Uber Lagos’ cash payment option went live on Monday, and you’re wondering why you still don’t have it? Well, the feature is rolling out gradually so it won’t be available to everyone at the same time.

However, the folks at TechCabal have come up with a simple hack that will help you enable the feature right now. Follow the steps below:

  • Load the Uber app and confirm that your debit card is still your only payment option.
  • Navigate to anywhere in Nairobi. You could Google any location in Nairobi and input that location.

  • Now return back to Lagos. The cash option should be available so just select it from amongst the payment methods and you should be good to go.

This works because whenever you visit a new city, Uber dynamically adapts the apps API to isplay the options available to that city.

However, you don’t have to be physically present in said city to access those options. So in essence, you can be in Nigeria and order an Uber for someone in the US or Australia, assuming they don’t have the app already.
