Tech giant just patented technology that will make your iPhone unable to record video at concerts

With the technology, venues will be able to use an infrared beam to disable photography on mobile phones, thus preventing people from taking videos and photos at events.

Apple's patented technology

Apple has registered a patent to prevent the use of iPhones to take pictures or videos at live shows, concerts, or events of that nature.

Concert goers may not like this very much, but show promoters and event planners should be absolutely thrilled.

With the technology, venues will be able to use an infrared beam to disable photography on mobile phones, thus preventing people from taking videos and photos at events.

When the infrared transmitters are switched on at events, a user's phone will simply display a "recording disabled" message when the user tries to record or take a photo with their iPhone.

Alternatively, a watermark or blur effect could replace the device being completely disabled and still have the same effect - discouraging people from recording.

I don't know why Apple felt the need to develop this technology or how Apple plans to apply it but Apple has done crazier things in the past so fingers crossed.

There is no other information available at this time and there is no evidence of what Apple wants to do with the technology or what devices it will implement it on.
