‘Don’t make excuses, fulfill all your promises,’ PDP Governors tell President-elect

Lamido and Aliyu, both of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also said that Buhari must fulfill his promises whether the economy is favourable or not.

The Governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido and his Niger State counterpart, Babangida Aliyu have told President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to work on fulfilling his promises to Nigerians instead of making excuses.

Lamido and Aliyu, both of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also said that Buhari must fulfill his promises whether the economy is favourable or not.

The governors made the comments on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the commissioning of the Shiroro Bridge in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Jigawa.

“You (Buhari) must fulfill your promises, because there was no condition given on how to do it. Whether the economy is favourable or not, do not give us any excuse. We will not tolerate any excuses because when you were asking for votes and making promises, there were no conditions given,” Lamido said.

Aliyu also made reference to the PDP members who had decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) saying:

“A party of evil men is a party that raised them. Whatever they are, they owe it all to the PDP because PDP, one way or the other, brought almost all of them into politics. It is about time for them to reflect, because Nigerians will definitely hold them accountable.”

The governors also criticized PDP Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu for failing to resign despite leading the party to defeat at the recently held general elections.
