Senate President, Bukola Saraki is currently involved in a legal battle with the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) after he was accused of corruption by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The Senate President again failed to show up for the continuation of the trial today, September 21, despite arrest threats against him.

Here are three reasons Saraki has given for his absence at the tribunal:
- "My absence from the Tribunal today, was based on counsel received that the tribunal will respect the decision of the Federal High Court."
- "CCT Chairman & members who only take official oath and not judicial oath are expected to respect the decision of the superior court"
- The Code of Conduct Tribunal is not properly constituted
