Premium Times reports that this was contained in the 2014 federal audit report, which was submitted to the National Assembly.

You will recall that In 2014, the then Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Lamido Sanusi, was suspended after accusing the NNPC of failing to pay $20 billion into the government’s coffers between January 2012 and July 2013.

The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) was not left out either.

NLNG reportedly did not remit $235.7 m made from gas sales, to the government’s account.

The issue of a vessel purchased from Singapore by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, purportedly meant for training students of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Efurun-Delta state, was also highlighted.

The auditors said “The cost of the purchase (of vessel) and how much was paid before the vessel was abandoned could not be ascertained due to the fact that the contract was awarded without the involvement of the Nigerian Mission in Singapore.”
