Polio vaccination.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, disclosed this in Illela on Saturday at the inauguration of the February 2016 second round of Polio Immunisation Plus Days (IPDs).

Aliyu said the committee was mandated to ensure that all eligible children in the state were immunised against polio.

``This is to sensitise parents on the need to ensure that their children and wards are fully immunised against the polio killer-disease.

``We have to take all measures possible to protect our children from all diseases, polio inclusive,'' he said.

Aliyu stressed need for the state government in partnership with traditional rulers and religious leaders as well as development partners to resolve all issues of rejection of polio vaccines by a negligible number of parents in the state.

The deputy governor reiterated the commitment of the state government to maintain its polio-free status for the past three years.
