Court grants PDP spokesman N600M bail in fresh case

The decision is in connection with charges of destruction of evidence brought against Metuh by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

An Abuja High Court has granted bail to the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, in the sum of N300 million with two sureties in like sum.

The judgment was given by Justice Ishaq Bello today, January 22, 2016.

The decision is in connection with charges of destruction of evidence brought against Metuh by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Bello also said that the two sureties to be presented by the PDP spokesman must be resident in Abuja.

Metuh was earlier granted bail to the tune of N400 million in connection with a case of money laundering against him.

The EFCC has alleged that the PDP spokesman tore a statement made by him regarding the fraud case which was brought to him to sign.

Metuh is being tried for allegedly receivingthe sum of N400 million from former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki who’s also being tried for corruption.
