ICPC boss says Buhari led anti-corruption war by example

Nta said the success of the internal war against corruption has seen the international community reckoning with the anti-corruption drive of the government.

Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, Chairman, Ekpo Nta, has attributed the progress made so far to the anti-corruption disposition of the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The ICPC boss said the war against corruption by the present administration has made so much progress and gaining momentum because the president had been leading by example.

According to a statement released by the commission on Friday, February 5, 2016, Nta said the success of the internal war against corruption has seen the international community reckoning with the anti-corruption drive of the government.

“The seriousness with which the war is being fought in Nigeria has been eliciting responses from countries that have been promising to offer assistance to Nigeria in its fight against corruption," the statement reads in part.

Continuing, it read, 'ICPC has long taken preventive measures towards advancing the course of the fight against corruption through the promotion of ethics and integrity from childhood. We have also alluded to the launching of National Values Curriculum in schools since 2007 to inculcate ethics in students at primary and secondary schools, which is in collaboration with the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council.'
