Group hails Buhari for deploying military aircrafts to region

The Federal Government had launched a military operation in the oil rich region to stop the bombing of offshore facilities belonging to oil companies in the region.

The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) have also claimed responsibility for several bombings in the Niger-Delta.

The militants also vowed to continue the bombing of offshore facilities until the Federal Government meets their demands.

Punch reports that the Senior Executive Partner, Rescue Mission, Sokari Afiesimama, said “Yes, the additional platforms, comprising fighter aircraft, helicopter gunship and surveillance aircraft, capable of enhancing adequate security to undertake offensive air operations and intelligence gathering in support of the surfaces forces remain the only remedy.

“It’s timely and highly welcome that today government has taken decisive measure in taking sole responsibility to protect lives and property, to end long sufferings and pains attributed to lawlessness in the region.”

Niger Delta Activist, Chief Ayiri Emami has urged the federal government not to negotiate with new militant group, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), calling them a bunch of criminals.
