Group wants Benue Speaker to clear his name
The Speaker Benue State House of Assembly has been called upon to clear his position in the ongoing N700 Million Naira car loan scandal which has been rocking the Assembly.

The group frowned at the silence of the Speaker and the leadership of the house amidst the sensational scandal that has mentioned them.
They said “it is rather unfathomable that a scandal as grave as this will be making the mill and the leadership of the Benue State House of Assembly will sit back and allow it go on without clearing the air on its position”.
In the statement made available to journalists on Thursday, June 15, 2016 wondered why the House leadership has decided to allow “the Deputy Speaker drag the supposed revered name of the State legislative arm into the mud”, while demanding that members should rise and defend the institutional integrity of the assembly.
“We are utterly dismayed by the silence that is even coming from the floor of the house, even as we have severally wondered Okefe is still a member of this Assembly and why the assembly has allowed the Deputy Speaker drag the supposed revered name of the State legislative arm into the mud," They queried.
The group has therefore demanded that the Speaker and the leadership of the Assembly make clear its position on the scandal and furthermore caution or even disown the Deputy Speaker if needs be, as caution to any other corrupt member of the Assembly.
It is worthy to recall that in the past few days the Benue State House of Assembly has been rocked by crisis in which the leadership is accused of about 700 Million Naira with rumours rife of reports and arrests by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
