President says Nigeria’s military can defeat Boko Haram

The President also said that the Nigerian Army has earned a good reputation across the world and that it remains a virile fighting force.

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has said that the county’s military is highly capable of winning the war against Boko Haram.

Buhari made the comments on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, after holding security talks with Nigerien President Issoufou Mahamadou in Niamey.

The Nigerian President, according to a statement released by media aide, Garba Shehu, also said that his administration had already begun the process of ending the insurgency despite only being in office for four days.

Buhari also said that Nigeria would continue to seek the support of neighbouring countries in its bid to overcome Boko Haram.

The President is also expected to visit Chad on Thursday, June 4, to hold similar security talks on the war against the sect.
