Alhaji Abdullahi Sirajo, the Desk Officer in charge of the programme in the area, told newsmen on Monday in the town that pupils of both the primary and post basic schools benefitted from the exercise.
Sirajo said that the nets were provided free to the pupils, adding that additional nets would be distributed to mothers and households.
He added that the state government had earlier distributed malarial drugs and test kits to health facilities in the area.
Sirajo said that the gesture was to enhance treatment of the disease and encourage quality healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
“The government, in collaboration with the NMBC, has been creating awareness on the use of the nets, ensure effective case management and promote good sanitation to control the disease in the state,” he said.
The desk officer, however, called on the beneficiaries to protect themselves against the disease by ensuring effective utilisation of the nets.
