A gas explosion which occurred in Eliozu area of Port Harcourt has killed no fewer that five persons, Vanguard reports.

Muhammad could not confirm the casualty as at press time, noting police officers were already at the scene to collate information.

According the Rivers state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, who confirmed the explosion, a gas seller was refilling gas when suddenly the cylinder exploded.
He dismissed claims that it was a bomb explosion.
”I am sure the number will be more than five because I saw some bodies on the ground when the explosion occurred. I was told it was a gas explosion. I hope this is true”, he said.
