The assassins trailed the lawmaker to his house in Egbeda Local Government Area, and shot him.

The Oyo state police command’s spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu confirmed the incident, adding that investigations have commenced.
Ajisebutu said “I can confirm that the incident happened late yesterday, and the police have swung into action.”
The Oyo state House of Assembly recently passed a bill prohibiting people from smoking in public places into law.

Those caught smoking in public places are liable to jail terms ranging from three to six months or an option of fine between N15,000 to N50,000.
