Suspicious fire breaks out in State House of Assembly

The fire broke out in the accounts section of the complex early on Tuesday, February 24, Vanguard reports.

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly in Abakaliki, the state capital, has reportedly been gutted by flames.

The fire broke out in the accounts section of the complex early on Tuesday, February 24, Vanguard reports.

The flames eventually spread to the media section of the building and many important documents were said to have been destroyed.

Further reports say that the inferno is being suspected as the work of arsonists as the Accountant General was reportedly preparing to conduct a forensic audit before the incident.

Details regarding the incident are still sketchy at this time but reports have it that policemen are currently guarding the affected area.
