The Shehu of Dikwa, Borno, Alhaji Muhammad Masta II, on Sunday appealed to the Victims Support Fund (VSF) to assist in rebuilding his palace in Dikwa.

He said the rebuilding of the palace would enable him return home after staying in Maiduguri for three years.

"I want to remind the VSF that my palace also needs urgent attention. `My subjects came to my abode in Maiduguri last week urging me to request for the rebuilding of the palace as soon as we arrive here for the ceremony.''

He said he was ready to relocate to the destroyed town as soon as the palace was rebuilt.

"Unlike other people, I am ready to come to Dikwa to stay, but for my palace which is in bad shape now.

"People here know the relationship between myself and my people; our relationship is so close that my people have always been complaining of my continued stay in Maiduguri.

"As soon as I relocate there, everybody else will come; life will start picking up and the economy will bounce back too,'' he said.

Masta appreciated Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno for his numerous assistance to the emirate and the people.

"I have to thank the governor who has done more to Dikwa people than any other person in Borno.
