The minister also said he supports calls for the region that produces the crude oil for the country, to be developed.

Kachikwu has been praised by some Niger Delta groups, who referred to him as a true son of the Niger-Delta.

Reno Omokri, the former aide of ex President Goodluck Jonathan, also praised Kachikwu in a tweet.

Omokri said “Ibe Kachikwu taught us the difference between a MINISTER and a ME-nister. A ministers to Nigerians while a me-nister ministers to his ego!”
