Police detain officers who were guarding ex-president’s uncle at time of abduction

The 72-year-old was reportedly kidnapped from his home in Otuoke on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

 

The 72-year-old was reportedly kidnapped from his home in Otuoke on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

According to Sahara Reporters, the policemen are currently being interrogated as part of investigations into the incident.

A family member, Igbogiamini Paul, had said that the policemen were not on duty when the kidnappers arrived Nitabai’s residence.

Meanwhile, a family member who was abducted along with the elderly man, Samuel Oki, was found dead shortly after the incident.

The kidnappers are yet to make contact with the victim’s family.
