The 21 Chibok girls recently released by Boko Haram are to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari today, Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

The girls are said to have arrived at the Villa with their family members and a medical team.

They were released on Thursday, October 13, after negotiations between the Nigerian government and the sect which were brokered by the Swiss government.

They were picked up by a military helicopter in the Banki area of Borno state and received in Abuja by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Buhari had departed Nigeria for an official visit to Germany shortly after the girls’ release and as such couldn’t meet with them.

The government has said that it is also negotiating the release of 83 more girls.
