President sympathises with Sierra Leone's President over fatal mudslide

Buhari was said to have called Koroma on the telephone from London to express his condolences.

The tragic incident reportedly left over 2,000  Sierra Leoneans homeless.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said Buhari called Koroma on Tuesday, August 15.

"In a Tuesday telephone call from London, President Buhari told President Koroma that the hearts of Nigerians are with the people of Sierra Leone at this tragic and painful period in the history of the country," Adesina said in the statement.

"President Buhari prays that Almighty God will comfort those who are mourning loved ones and suffered other losses.

"President Koroma thanked President Buhari for his show of concern and wished him good health."

Buhari, who has reportedly made a remarkable recovery, has been in London for 100 days where he is being treated for an undisclosed ailment.
