Terrorists kill woman in labour

A witness to the attack stated that the woman’s baby boy was already halfway out when she was hit by the terrorists’ bullets.

According to reports, Boko Haram insurgents killed a woman in labour during the recent attack in Baga, Borno State.

A witness to the attack stated that the woman’s baby boy was already halfway out when she was hit by the terrorists’ bullets.

"Half of the baby boy (was) out and she died like this," the unidentified witness told Amnesty International.

Another survivor reportedly said: “I don't know how many but there were bodies everywhere we looked.”

38-year-old fisherman, Yanaye Grema told AFP that he was “stepping on bodies” as he made his escape from Baga after the massacre.

“For five kilometres (three miles), I kept stepping on dead bodies until I reached Malam Karanti village, which was also deserted and burnt,” Grema said.

Amnesty International has also said in a statement that contrary to figures released by the Nigerian military, more than 150 people in the attack on Baga.
