The statement further quoted the NSA having told the troops that the visit of the top security officials was to boost their morales, in addition to ascertaining the situation on the ground.

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj.-Gen. Babagana Munguno (rtd), stressed Federal Government’s resolve to provide the necessary logistics and support to the armed forces for effective counter-insurgency in the North East.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters, Air Commodore Dele Alonge on Monday in Abuja.

The statement said that the Munguno delivered the message on behalf of the president while addressing the NAF personnel in Yola.

"I am telling you this, and you can take it as if it is coming from Mr President himself that you are going to be given everything you require, not only for the operation but for your personal welfare. This is an assurance I want to give you because NAF has brought a lot of noticeable improvements in the war against the terrorists due to the aerial support provided to the ground troops,’’ the NSA was quoted as saying.

He commended the NAF personnel’s commitment and patriotism while urging them to keep up the spirit by remaining steadfast in their resolve to halt the atrocities of the insurgents.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NSA visited the operational areas in the North-Eastern zone of the country in the company of service chiefsand the Inspector-General of Police.
