The Nigerian Labour Congress NLC in Edo State, has patted Governor Adams Oshiomhole on the back for paying the December salaries of his workers. They described the state as lucky compared to other states in Nigeria.

The chairman of the NLC in Edo State, Emmanuel Ademokun, commended the governor's efforts in the state, especially his cordial treatment of civil servants.

Comarade Ademokun advised other governors to emulate Governor Oshiomhole in the prompt payment of salaries. He lamented the fact that many civil servants in other states are going home empty handed, without anything for the festive celebrations.

“That is why we sincerely thank our governor for his unflinching commitment in the payment of worker’s salaries up to date. Our governor has clearly shown that he is a man of distinction who sees workers as assets and not liabilities.”

Few weeks ago, workers in Edo State took to the streets in jubilation as their salary was paid on the 21st of December. Governor Adams Oshiomhole was among the few governors who opposed the reduction of the minimum wage in spite of the drastic fall in government revenue.
