Kano State to establish mobile court for violators of environment laws

The Governor made the disclosure when he inaugurated the newly acquired multi-million Naira refuse disposal equipment on Thursday in Kano.

The Kano State Government is to establish mobile court to try violators of the state environment laws, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje said.

He said the equipment were purchased by the government at the cost of N1.1 billion to enhance refuse disposal in the the city.

He added that the mobile court was necessary in order to check indiscriminate abuse of the state's environment laws, noting that the state government would work with the State House of Assemly with a view to reviewing the existing laws to make them more effective and result-oriented.

According to him, the state government will not fold its arms and allow some few individuals to continue to violate environment laws to the detriment of the entire people of the state.
