The #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group has a strong message for the Federal Road Safety Commission(FRSC).

The coordinator of the group, Abubakar Yusuf, also reacted to FRSC’s plans to train all drivers of government official vehicles and over speeding by government officials.

“Accidents are occurring on our roads. What have the country done to stop it? What have FRSC done to see that drivers along our way are capable. Other nations learn from what happened to them, but in Nigeria, we do not learn but cry and talk over it until it happens again.

We should think of our national interest. Citizens should wake up and start demanding. When are we going to have ambulances that can take injured people to hospitals when they had an accident? When are we to learn from our mistakes?  It is really time we start talking and bringing solution to our problem.

Over-speeding should be reduced in our roads. Political office holder on convoy are victims to this. They not only over-speed, but they attack citizens who didn’t hurriedly get out of the way for them. It is unfortunate that they do this on the people who voted them into power. Are we suppose to leave the roads for them?,” she asked.

About a week ago, the former Minister of state for Labor and Employment, James Ocholi, his wife and son lost their lives in a Road Traffic Crash (RTC).

A Road Traffic Crash Investigation by the FRSC  found overspeeding to be the reason for the accident.
