Agency arrests 39 traffic violators at Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway
The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has arrested thirty-nine traffic violators at Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway.
They were arrested for mechanical deficiency, drivers’ licence violation, more at Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway during a special patrol exercise organised by the Ota Unit Command, FRSC.
Leye Adegboyega, the Unit Commander said the arrest and exercise, tagged “End-of-Year Operation Sanity Special Patrol,” was part of the agency's plan to reduce and eventually put an end to road crashes.
Adegboyega said this would create safe roads for motorists, traveling during the festive season.
After the arrest, the thirty-nine traffic offenders were tried before a mobile court, where thirty-three were convicted.
The remaining six were discharged and acquitted.
