FRSC arrests 109 offenders, impounds 70 vehicles in Zamfara state

During the Easter holidays, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) arrested 109 traffic offenders and impounded 70 vehicles in Zamfara state.

During the recent Easter holidays, 109 traffic offenders were arrested by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Zamfara state.

According to the Sector Commander, Mr Amos Thliza, these offenders were arrested for 112 traffic violations.

Thliza added that the arrest was done by the 311 officers, who were deployed to ensure free flow of traffic during the Easter period.

The sector commander also said 70 vehicles were impounded from March 24 to March 28, 2016, by the eight patrol vehicles deployed for the holiday season.

Despite the huge number of arrests, and impounded vehicles, Thiza said the streets were clam, as no accidents were recorded.

He ended his interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by urging road users to always obey all traffic rules.
