'Riverdale's' Camila Mendes' Workouts Include Pilates, Yoga, And Solo Gym Sessions

Camila Mendes Shares Her Go-To Workouts
  • Riverdale's Camila Mendes says working out and being active has always been a part of her lifestyle.
  • Camila says she was 'addicted' to yoga in high school.
  • Since then, she has tried a variety of classes, like Pilates and bootcamps, and she works out solo in her building's gym.

Riverdale's Camila Mendes sand-boarded her way through her Women's Health October issue cover shoot looking like a total natural. That's probably because she swears by a mix of eclectic workouts that keep her super-fit and ready for anything.

Camila tells Women's Health she caught the workout bug at 15, when she started joining her mom at the gym. "I just started working out and loved it," she says. She also tried hot yoga in high school with friends. "That's probably the most fit I've ever been in my life," she says. "We were addicted and fell in love with the spirituality of it. That was when I felt really connected, mind and body."

She also has been a ClassPass member, and popped around to Pilates, yoga, bootcamp, and other types of fitness classes. "I just tried everything I possibly could because I knew keeping it fresh and always trying new things is also a part of being healthy and going out of your comfort zone."

One method stands out for her, though: "I love Pilates ," she says. The catch: She only does Pilates when she's in LA and can take classes at her favorite studio, which she's keeping a secret. Camila also frequents Y7 for yoga "because they play hip-hop music and it's really fun there."

Her workouts look a lot different when she's in Vancouver shooting Riverdale. "I'm not as comfortable taking classes there," Camila says. While filming, she mostly works out in the gym in her building. "I just work out, do what I'm feeling, what I feel I need to work on."

"My happiness always starts with my health," Camila says. "I feel like I'm going through something, I think about what can I do physically for myself. Sometimes curing the mind is really just about curing the body, and finding your physical strength."
