3 relationship lessons to learn from couple's divorce news

This article examines the relationship lessons to be learnt following news that the couple have begun their divorce process.

And if you are seated somewhere wondering what the fuss is all about, let me paint a picture of what Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are like.

They are arguably the Michelle and Barack Obama of Hollywood. Another super couple in the mould of Beyonce and Jay Z.

They were so big together that due to the media frenzy around them, they escaped to Namibia for the birth of their first Biological child.

The first pictures of that child sold for $7million, and when they had a set of twins years later, the first pictures also sold for $14million.

Hopefully that paints a picture of how tremendous they both were as a couple.

That grand union which seemed to be forged with an unbreakable ancient stone is now about to be dissolved by “irreconcilable differences.”

If Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, gods, are getting a divorce, then there must be lessons for mere men like us. [Some joyless person might say the first lesson to learn is that Karma is a b…. Well, I’m not joyless, so… I won't say that.]

What and what can we learn from the impending separation of the couple?

No relationship is perfect

Cast your mind back to 2004. [If you were not old enough then, go download Mr and Mrs Smith and read some old articles.]

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were the rave of the moment. Mr and Mrs Smith dropped and was hugely successful.

The couple fell in love on set and defied the odds to stay together since then. [Sorry, Jennifer Aniston.]

They were fantastic actors [they still are] and the love we have for what they present on screen naturally translated to the way we viewed their union.

They both did exceptionally well whenever they decided to grace any movie with their appearance.

Since they were always faultless on screen, coupled by that perfect dovetailing in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, it somehow became ‘normal’ to assume that they were perfect together, and nothing could happen to their union.

Yes, they actually looked the part, but still, they are human, and  they , too, are prone to the vices and mistakes we make.

Nothing in life is certain

I, personally, could have sworn that they would be together forever. I know several of you reading this felt the same way too. Sadly, we all were so wrong.

It goes to show once again, how totally unpredictable life is. No one knows tomorrow. [I hope nobody is saying tomorrow is Thursday? I’m being serious here, guys.]

Enjoy every relationship moment while it lasts

Live every moment like it’s your last, they say, and Angelina and Brad’s present situation just shows how totally true that is.

Learn from this sad end of their wedding, to enjoy every moment with that special person; every day, every kiss, every little thing they do, even the fights…

Treasure it, enjoy it while it lasts, for they might not even be there with you tomorrow.

As it is written above, no one knows what tomorrow holds.
