South Africa slipped into recession in the second quarter of the year and the government has found solutions to boost investor confidence and the country's economy. Hence, the country will ease some immigration rules, including agreeing visa waiver agreements with more countries.
Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba announced on Tuesday that from next month, a whole bunch of regulations allowing frequent visitors and foreign business travellers to have long-term multiple-entry visas of up to 10 years will take full effect.

Visitors from China and India can get visas that can last 10 years processed in five days, along with many other relaxed requirements.
A total of 19 countries are in line to be granted visa-free travel to South Africa, but Nigeria is not one of them.
Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Sao Tome and Principe, Tunisia, Ghana, The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (Western Saharans), Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Palestine, Iran, Lebannon, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait, Belarus, Georgia and Cuba.
Could this be due to the tensions between Nigerians and South Africans in South Africa, or do we just not contribute to their tourism in anyway? These strict visa rules for Africans by Africans could be the reason why Africans are disinterested in exploring Africa.
Whatever be the reason, South Africa has lots of activities to offer tourists and our green passport won't stop us.
