Heart attack occurs when blood flow to the heart is stopped

Heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked.

This happens often as a result of build-up of fat, cholesterol and other substances. The interrupted blood flow can eventually damage or destroy part of the heart muscle.

Heart attack can be fatal so it's important to get medical help when you suspect any symptom of the disease.

There are different ways/lifestyle changes to adapt to prevent the condition, these ones below help a great deal:

Living a healthy life as well as maintaining the proper weight helps keep the heart going strong. Obesity, especially abdominal fat exposes one to the risk of cardiovascular disease. Regular exercise is equally important.

4. Get Adequate Sleep.

Research reveal that people who sleep less than five hours or more than 10 hours are more likely to get a heart disease than those who sleep at an average of 8 hours. Get adequate sleep as too less or too much sleep can cause coronary heart disease and heart attacks.

5. Exercise Regularly.

Regular exercising would improve metabolism and burn your fats reducing the chances of heart attacks. Playing tennis, swimming, brisk walking etc are amongst great exercises that work to keep the heart in great shape.
