'My husband dumped me for not aborting 6-month-old pregnancy,' Woman tells court
A 40-yr-old woman has accuse her husband of abandonment after she refused to abort a 6-month-old pregnancy.
Amudalat Afolabi, made the disclosure while testifying in a divorce petition filed against her by her husband, Tajudeen on Thursday, September 22.
“My husband sent me away from our matrimonial home because I refused to terminate the six-month pregnancy I am carrying,” she said.
Amudalat did not oppose the dissolution of the 20-year-old marriage, making it clear that Tajudeen was an irresponsible man.
However, Tajudeen, 50, who resides in the Edun Area of Illorin, begged the court to dissolve the marriage over Amudalat's alleged infidelity.
According to his testimony, Tajudeen and Amadalat got married in 1996 and the five children they share live with him because their mother allegedly left their home.
“I am fed up with her waywardness. She is not stable and always frame excuses for her actions. I pray the court to put an end to this union because my wife can kill me as she moves around town like a dog.”
The Area court judge, Mr AbdulQudri Ibrahim, dissolved the marriage, issuing a certificate of divorce to the complainant.
