Fast-rising street-hop artiste, Slopy, is riding a wave right now, as he drops the music video of his smashing new single – Sho Ma Take E.
Slopy Drops ‘Sho Ma Take E’ Single & Video
With core Hip hop elements, and an infusion of the trendy indigenous elements, ‘Sho Ma Take E’ exists in the space between modern Hip-hop and Afrobeat which somehow ties tradition together, while placing his distinct energy on it.
It portrays very percussive production style featuring African samples, deep bass, and repetitive, minimalist arrangements laced with easy going but strong Hip hop-oriented Yoruba & pidgin lyrics.
Born Shobowale Omotolani Joshua, the name SLOPY is an acronym for ‘Shobowale's Lastborn Omotolani Pass You”. He is a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, with a strong interest in natural exibitionism via African rap.
His driving inspiration was received from his late mother, who endlessly sang to him during his childhood, thereby ingraining him with a strong sense of music. He also had influences from Jay Z, 50 Cent, and other rap stars. In 2011, after years of honing his skills, and composing Afro-themed rap songs, he kicked off his professional career. He is signed to Brytunes Entertainment.
Today he’s dropped the thrilling Sho Ma Take E, with a video directed by Legendary Filmworks.
Listen, watch, download, have fun.
