The police in Oyo State have created a record as they successfully recovered a car snatched from a woman by armed robbers, barely 30 minutes later.
Police recover car 30 minutes after it was snatched
The Nigerian police has shown yet again that given the right environment, they can perform wonders.
While handing over the car to the owner, Aderinola Ologuntoye at the state Police Command, Eleyele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, said he directed his men to swoop on the criminals immediately the woman reported that her car had been snatched at gun point and with the signal, his men swung into action and blocked all exit points in the town and successfully recovered the car from the bandits.
It was gathered that the victim was driving home with her daughter in her Honda iTEC car when the two robbers operating on a motorcycle forcefully snatched the car from her while pointing guns at her and made away with the car.
The woman and some sympathizers rushed to a nearby police station and reported the robbery and less than 30 minutes later, the robbers were arrested and the car recovered.
“My car was recovered in less than 30 minutes after it was snatched. I was so impressed with the police because the usual thing believed about them was that they don’t respond to distress calls in time, but immediately I told them of the robbery incident, they came out of the station and pursued the armed robbers,” the happy woman praised the police.
A few days ago, the police in Rivers State engaged some dangerous armed robbers in a fierce gun and when they could not withstand the firepower from the officers, the robbers fled, leaving behind their operational vehicle, ammunitions and a cash totalling N137 million.
