Actress signs new deal with "Grey's Anatomy"

After her 2-year contract expired at the end of the recently concluded 12th season, Ellen Pompeo has signed a new deal to remain on show as Meredith Grey.

After her 2-year contract expired at the end of the recently concluded 12th season, Ellen Pompeo has signed a new deal to remain on show as Meredith Grey.

Her renewal comes after Sara Ramirez exit from show in season 12 finale, after her character was written out as she proceeded to travel to NYC with Sophia.

The actress is one of the highest-paid actresses on TV, reportedly earning $300,000 per episode for her interpretation of the character Meredith.

Pompeo is one of the hit medical drama’s remaining original cast members. Ramirez exit marked the third major exit on show, following the departures of Sandra Oh in Season 10 and Patrick Dempsey in Season 11.
