A woman who wore a t-shirt that read ‘Won’t Be Caught’ as she robbed a beauty supply store got caught, police said.
Officers in Tampa, Florida say Toccara Marlesha Huff, 33, and an accomplice were caught by CCTV cameras at a shop stealing $1478 (£953) in perfume.
It soon transpired that Huff had dozens of arrests over the past 15 years, and she finished serving her last prison sentence just 10 months ago.
Police say Huff – now a fugitive after failing to appear at court hearings following her arrest – is part of an organised retail theft operation known for lifting everything from designer clothes to sunglasses through ‘booster bags’, which can trick theft monitoring devices.
While Huff remains on the lam, her alleged accomplice in the beauty store theft is being held without bond. Ayanna Palacio is jailed on grand theft and probation violation charges, according to court records.
Like Huff, Palacio, 38, is a convicted felon with a lengthy rap sheet. She was released from state prison in 2010 after serving about five years for armed robbery.
